Illinois 89, St. Francis (N.Y.) 64: Tyler Griffey scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures as the Fighting Illini rolled past the visiting Terriers.

Leading 30-25 late in the first half, Illinois (2-0) used a 15-0 run in the final 6:40 to take a commanding 45-25 halftime cushion and were never threatened. Griffey scored 13 in the first half, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range.

Tracy Abrams scored 15 while Brandon Paul added 14 points and six assists, and Nnanna Egwu chipped in 10 points as Illinois shot 49.2 percent from the field and drained 11 three-pointers. The Illini have won 17 straight non-conference games at home.

Akeem Johnson scored 13 to lead the Terriers (1-1) and Ben Mockford added 12.
