South Alabama 76, No. 24 Florida State 71: Freddie Goldstein hit the go-ahead free throws with 26 seconds remaining and Antoine Allen scored a game-high 21 points as the Jaguars upset the host Seminoles in Tallahassee.

After a 3-pointer from the Seminoles' Ian Miller tied the game at 69-69 with 1:03 to play, Goldstein answered by connecting on a trio of free throws after being fouled from beyond the arc to put the Jaguars ahead for good.

Michael Snaer missed the potential game-tying 3-pointer on Florida State's next possession, and South Alabama made four more free throws to close it out.

Augustine Rubit (12 points), Mychal Ammons (11), Goldstein (11) and Xavier Roberson (10) all pitched in for South Alabama. Ammons, a freshman, added 11 rebounds in his debut for the Jaguars (1-0).

Terry Whisnant II and freshman Montay Brandon led the offense with 11 points apiece for Florida State, which raised last year's ACC championship banner before the disappointing finish in the season opener. Snaer contributed 10 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for the Seminoles (0-1).
