Washington State 72, Oregon State 55:
Abe Lodwick set a career high with 23 points and added 12 rebounds as the visiting Cougars beat the Beavers for the third time this season to advance to the College Basketball Invitational finals.

Lodwick hit five 3-pointers and Reggie Moore scored 22 points for Washington State (18-16), which will face Pittsburgh in the best-of-three CBI championship series beginning Monday.

After averaging 90.5 points in its first two CBI games, Oregon State (21-15) shot 38 percent from the field and made two of its 12 3-point attempts against the Cougars. Eric Moreland led the Beavers with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Washington State, which swept the regular season series before losing to Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament, led by 10 at halftime after shooting 51 percent in the first half.

The Beavers trailed 51-42 with 13 minutes to play, but the Cougars quickly scored nine straight points to put the game out of reach.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Lodwick’s double-double was the first of his career. The senior was 8-of-12 shooting from the field. … The Cougars played most of the game without top scorer Brock Motum, who exited after two minutes with an ankle injury. … Oregon State’s Jared Cunningham made five of his 13 shots for 12 points after averaging 24.5 points and shooting 70 percent in the Beavers’ first two CBI games. … Washington State has won 11 of the last 14 games against Oregon State and five of the last six. ... The Cougars will open the CBI championship series at home before heading to Pittsburgh for the second game.
