E.J. Singler scored 25 points and Olu Ashaolu added 22 as Oregon recovered from a 15-point first half-deficit to defeat Iowa in the second round of the NIT.

Carlos Emory scored 19 points and Devoe Joseph and Garrett Sim tallied 15 apiece as third-seeded Oregon (24-9) advances to play top-seeded Washington on Tuesday.

Devyn Marble scored a career-high 31 points and made a career-best seven 3-point baskets for seventh-seeded Iowa (18-17). Aaron White added 22 points and Melsahn Basabe scored 17 for the Hawkeyes.

The Ducks shot 59.3 percent from the field and hit 28 of 32 free-throws while recording their highest point total of the season. Singler was nine-of-10 from the field.

Oregon exploded for a 16-8 run after Marble’s seventh 3-pointer tied the game at 68 with 11:53 remaining. Joseph began the surge with a 3-pointer and Emory, Sim and Singler all added treys during the run that gave the Ducks a 84-76 lead with 8:25 left.

Singler and Sim drained back-to-back 3-pointers to increase Oregon’s lead to 97-85 with over five minutes remaining.

Bryce Cartwright added 12 points and 10 assists for Iowa.

Marble scored 11 quick points as Iowa jumped out to a 19-5 lead less than five minutes into the contest. Matt Gatens hit a 3-pointer to make it 31-16 with 10:46 to go in the half before Oregon began whittling away at the lead.

Ashaolu scored at will in the interior – he had 18 first-half points – and the Ducks closed the half with a 9-2 run to trail just 51-47.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Marble set school NIT records for points and 3-pointers in a game… The Ducks topped 90 points for the fourth time in five games… Gatens had just seven points on three-of-10 shooting… Oregon is 17-3 at home.
