Florida 66, Alabama 63: Kenny Boynton scored 14 points and made a pair of free throws with 9.8 seconds left to help seal the victory for the 19th-ranked Gators in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament.

Boynton had three 3-pointers and was 5-for-5 at the line as the Gators (23-9, 11-6) advanced to the semifinals to play No. 1 Kentucky.
Alabama’s JaMychal Green had a chance to tie the game with 20.1 seconds left, but missed the second of two free throws, leaving Florida ahead 64-63. The

Crimson Tide (21-11, 10-8) had a chance to tie at the buzzer, but Trevor Lacey’s 3-point try was no good.
Florida, which made 10 3-pointers, got 16 points from Bradley Beal and 15 points from Erik Murphy. Green had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Crimson Tide, which also got 12 points from Trevor Releford and 11 from Lacey.

Alabama, which trailed 26-24 at halftime, tied the game with 6:03 left on a basket by Nick Jacobs. But Florida responded with a 6-0 run, three free throws by Kenny Boynton and a 3-point basket by Scottie Wilbekin.

Game notebook:
Florida went 16 of 19 at the foul line … The Gators shot only 39.2 percent from the floor, but was 10-for-30 on 3s … Alabama shot 51.1 percent from the field and outrebounded Florida 30-21.
