Wichita State 72, Indiana State 48:
Joe Ragland and Toure’ Murry scored 14 points each, while Garrett Stutz added 14 rebounds to lead top-seeded and 14th-ranked Wichita State to an easy win over eighth-seed Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinal.

Wichita State shot 50 percent in the game (32 of 61) and 50 percent on 3-pointers.

The Shockers (27-4, 16-2 MVC) advance to play No. 4 seed Illinois State in Saturday's semifinals.

Wichita State denied inside penetration, outscoring the Sycamores 32-12 in the paint, and outrebounding them 43-29. Wichita State also limited Indiana State’s looks from outside, holding it to 5 of 22 (22.7 percent) from 3-point range, and 14 of 52 overall (26.9 percent).

Wichita State made nine of its first 12 shots (75 percent) to take a 20-3 lead in the first eight minutes, while holding Indiana State to 1 of 9 (11.1 percent). The Shockers led 40-19 at the break.

Indiana State started the second half with a 9-0 run to pull within 40-28. Wichita State, which led by as many as 25, went 0 for 7 from the field to start the second half. A 3-pointer by Ragland and one from Demetric Williams put Wichita State up 46-30 with 14:17 left.

Dwayne Lathan led Indiana State (18-14, 8-10 MVC) with nine points.
