PURDUE 80, PENN STATE 56: Robbie Hummel scored 26 points in his final home game at Mackey Arena as Purdue broke open a close game with a 11-0 run to start the second half and the Boilermakers notched their 20th win of the year.
Purdue (20-10, 10-7 Big Ten) broke away from a 37-32 halftime lead as the Boilermakers' three seniors; Hummel, Lewis Jackson, and Ryne Smith scored 24 of the first 29 points of the second half while sending the Nittany Lions (12-18, 4-13 Big Ten) to their ninth straight conference loss, all by double digits. Jackson scored all 12 of his points after halftime and was 6 of 6 from the field, while Smith connected on three 3-pointers in the second half.

D.J. Byrd came off the bench to score 14 points for Purdue, and Terone Johnson added 13 as the Boilermakers shot 57 percent from the field, hitting 27 of 47 and 81 percent from the free-throw line (17 of 21). Purdue moved into a fifth-place tie with rival Indiana; the Boilermakers and Hoosiers meet in the regular season finale on Sunday in Bloomington.

Tim Frazier led Penn State with 24 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hummel matched a season-high with six assists. ... Purdue has won at least 20 games six straight years, matching the school record set by the Gene Keady-coached teams from 1983-88. ... Frazier handed out six assists and has tied former Penn State standout Talor Battle for the school's single-season record (189).
