TEXAS CHRISTIAN 83, NEW MEXICO 64: J.R. Cadot had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Hank Thorns had 14 points and nine assists as the host Horned Frogs routed the No. 21 Lobos.

Garlon Green scored 13 points, Craig Williams had 12 on four 3-pointers and Amric Fields scored eight of his 11 points during the decisive run as TCU (17-11, 7-5 Mountain West) improved to 13-2 at home.

A.J. Hardeman scored 15 points for New Mexico (22-6, 8-4), which lost its second straight game after becoming ranked for the first time this season and fell back into a first-place tie.

The Horned Frogs snapped an eight-game losing skid to New Mexico by outscoring the Lobos 35-16 over the final 13 1/2 minutes.

The game was tied at 48 before TCU’s Connell Crossland started a 10-0 run with a leaping left-handed rebound dunk. Fields scored the next eight points to finish the surge.

A short time later, Thorns hit a 3-pointer and Cadot drained two free throws to give the Horned Frogs a 13-point lead with 7:23 remaining

Williams hit two 3-pointers in the first five minutes as TCU jumped out to a 13-4 lead. New Mexico’s first lead came at 19-18 on Hugh Greenwood’s free throw with 8:24 left in the half. The contest was tied 38-38 at halftime.

New Mexico star Drew Gordon had 12 rebounds but was limited to seven points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Williams has made 15 3-pointers in the past five games after having four all season entering the stretch. … The Lobos shot 30.8 percent in the second half after making 51.7 percent in the first. … Thorns moved into sixth place on TCU’s all-time career assists list with 358. … New Mexico committed 16 turnovers.
