TEXAS 71, TEXAS TECH 67 (OT): Julien Lewis scored 15 points, including the go-ahead layup with 11 seconds left, as the visiting Longhorns rallied from a six-point overtime deficit to keep their NCAA tournament hopes alive.

Texas’ J’Covan Brown stole the ball from Javarez Willis and fed a wide-open Lewis as the Longhorns (18-11, 8-8 Big 12) won their eighth straight over the Red Raiders.

A pair of Luke Adams free throws with 2:21 left gave Texas Tech a 67-61 lead before two Lewis free throws, a Brown 3-pointer and another Lewis free throw tied the game with 41 seconds to go.

After a Texas turnover with 19 seconds remaining in regulation, Willis hit a 10-foot runner in the lane with 12 seconds left to make it 59-59 and force overtime.

Brown, who entered leading the Big 12 in scoring at 19.7 points per game, was held to 14 on 4-of-13 shooting, including 1 for 7 from 3-point range.

Jordan Tolbert had 15 points and nine rebounds and Jaye Crockett scored 16 for Texas Tech (8-20, 1-15). Willis recorded 15 points.

Texas Tech raced to a 12-3 advantage before Texas unleashed a 28-5 run. The Longhorns held the Red Raiders scoreless for stretches of 7:05 and 5:06 in the first half.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Texas improved to 27-3 against Texas Tech under coach Rick Barnes, including 12-2 in Lubbock. … The Longhorns have appeared in 13 straight NCAA tournaments, tied for the fifth-longest active streak. … The Longhorns defeated the Red Raiders 74-57 on Feb. 4.
