WICHITA STATE 81, DRAKE 58: Ben Smith made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points to help the No. 19 Shockers to their eighth straight victory.

Wichita State had five players score in double figures and avenged an earlier triple-overtime loss to the Bulldogs. The Shockers (26-4, 16-2 Missouri Valley Conference) also got 15 points and five rebounds from Garrett Stutz and 14 points and seven rebounds from Toure Murry.

Drake (16-14, 9-9 MVC) got 21 points from Ben Simons, who had scored a season-high 29 against the Shockers in the first meeting. Simons made seven of his team’s nine 3-point baskets. Rayvonte Rice added 18 for the Bulldogs.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Wichita State honored its five seniors on Saturday. The group has accounted for 97 victories, the winningest four-year group in school history . . . Wichita State finished the regular season 15-1 at home, the ninth time it has lost only one home game during a campaign.
