ARIZONA 70, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 54: Kyle Fogg recorded his second double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Wildcats cruised to victory over the last-place Trojans, who tied a school record for losses.

Arizona (20-9, 11-5 Pac-12) finished the first half on a 12-0 run to lead 28-24, and the Wildcats led by 15 with 10 minutes remaining. Southern California (6-22, 1-14 Pac-12) lost its sixth straight game and 15th out of its last 16.

Playing with just six scholarship players, the injury-depleted Trojans shot 22 of 57 (38.6 percent) from the field, including 5 of 21 (23.8 percent) from beyond the arc.

Byron Wesley paced Southern California with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Garrett Jackson and Maurice Jones scored 10 points apiece.

Josiah Turner had 15 points and six assists for the Wildcats, who saw their five-game winning streak snapped last Saturday by first-place Washington.

Southern California moved one step closer to breaking the school record of 22 losses, set in 1988-89. The Trojans visit Arizona State this weekend before finishing the regular season against the Washington schools.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats didn’t shoot a free throw in the first half, which was the first time that had happened since 1983. … Arizona played without reserve center Kyryl Natyazhko, who was suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules. … Southern California is in danger of matching the modern school record for fewest victories, set by the 1976-77 team that finished 6-20. … Arizona point guard Jordin Mayes didn’t see any action after being cleared to play before the game. Mayes missed the team’s previous five games with foot injury.
