TENNESSEE 73, MISSISSIPPI 60: Jeronne Maymon posted 18 points and 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season and the host Volunteers kept the the Rebels winless in 11 trips to Thompson-Boling Arena since 1991.

Nothing went right for Tennessee (15-13, 7-6 SEC) in the opening few minutes as Ole Miss grabbed a 14-2 lead on Terrance Henry’s jumper with 14:40 showing in the first half.

The Volunteers, though, responded with a 19-2 run to get back into the game, led 31-30 at the half and dominated the second stanza - particularly at the line. The Vols went 17 for 21 at the stripe in the second half, while Ole Miss was 2 for 5.

Led by Maymon, five players scored in double digits for Tennessee. That group included Jordan McRae (16 points), whose most exciting basket was a one-handed highlight reel slam in transition.

Ole Miss (15-12, 5-8) is seeing its chances for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament evaporate. The Rebels have lost three straight and five of six. Henry led Mississippi with 15 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Volunteers junior Skylar McBee went 0 for 4 from 3-point range and is 0 for 10 in Tennessee’s past two contests. … Nick Williams scored 11 points for Ole Miss, but did most of his damage in a second half that Tennessee dominated. … Volunteers reserve Dwight Miller, who had scored four total points since Dec. 14, finished with 10.
