SAN FRANCISCO 66, GONZAGA 65: Rashad Green scored a team-high 16 points - including the game-winning layup with two seconds left - as the host Dons upset the No. 24 Bulldogs.

Perris Blackwell finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Michael Williams added 13 points for San Francisco (18-11, 8-7 WCC), which won for only the fourth time in its last 28 meetings with Gonzaga.

Gonzaga (21-5, 11-3) fell 1½ games behind Saint Mary’s for the West Coast Conference lead. The loss was its third straight at San Francisco.

The Bulldogs took a 65-64 lead with 3:49 left on Robert Sacre’s jumper. From there, both teams exchanged misses over the next 3½ minutes until the Dons took over possession with one final chance to win.

Green, who had 11 of his points in the first half, drove down the middle of the lane, laid the ball up toward the basket and it went in.

Moments later, after Elias Harris’ shot fell short at the buzzer, San Francisco’s student section rushed the court.

Harris had a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who trailed 36-33 at the half. Sacre added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.

Gonzaga lost despite outshooting the Dons (51 to 49 percent) and outrebounding them (31-21), but committed 21 turnovers.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
