VIRGINIA TECH 74, GEORGIA TECH 73 (OT): Dorenzo Hudson’s three-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Hokies to a thrilling overtime win.

The Yellow Jackets (9-17, 2-10 ACC) grabbed a two-point lead with five seconds left on Mfon Udofia’s contested 15-foot fadeaway, but the Hokies (15-12, 4-8 ACC) had enough time to get Hudson, a senior guard, a good look that he buried for the win.

Virginia Tech improved to 7-0 all-time against Georgia Tech at Cassell Coliseum.

Kammeon Holsey led the Yellow Jackets with 18 points on six-of-nine shooting.

The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Hokies 16-5 in the first half and took a 31-28 lead into the locker room. The Yellow Jackets capitalized on the absence of Hokies senior forward Victor Davila, who missed his second straight game with a strained groin.

But the Hokies made five straight three-pointers in the second half to draw even. Erick Green (14 points) missed a long contested jumper at the regulation buzzer, sending the game to overtime tied at 65.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Guard Jason Morris replaced Rice in the starting lineup and had 10 points and four assists, but left in overtime with an ankle injury... Green scored in double figures for the 28th straight game, the longest current streak by an ACC player... The Yellow Jackets entered the game as the ACC’s worst three-point shooting team (31 percent), then made 7 of 13 from beyond the arc.
