WASHINGTON STATE 72, ARIZONA STATE 50:
DaVonte Lacy scored 17 points and Brock Motem added 16 as the host Cougars snapped a two-game losing streak.

Washington State held the Sun Devils to only eight points in the first half on 3-of-18 shooting (16.7 percent). Arizona State's eight points were the fewest by a Washington State opponent in the first half in the post-shot clock era.

Washington State (14-13, 6-9 Pac-12) jumped on Arizona State from the outset, going on a 10-0 run and keeping the Sun Devils from scoring for the game’s first 3:25. The Cougars led 36-8 at the half, holding the Sun Devils scoreless for periods of 5:12, 3:00, and the final 8:12 of the half.

Washington State enjoyed success from inside and out, going 9 for 21 from 3-point range, and outscoring Arizona State 24-14 in the paint.

Arizona State (8-19, 4-11) rallied some in the second half, eclipsing its first-half point total in the first 1:39, and later going on a 12-2 run to close within 43-31 with 13:07 left.

Washington State answered with Patrick Simon's 3-pointer and two D.J. Shelton dunks to put the Cougars up 50-33 with 11:57 left.

Chris Colvin scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half for Arizona State.
