FLORIDA STATE 48, VIRGINIA TECH 47: Michael Snaer’s 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds to play erased an otherwise forgettable offensive effort for Florida State in a 48-47 comeback victory over visiting Virginia Tech.

The win marked the ninth in 10 games for the Seminoles (18-7, 9-2 ACC), who were outplayed all night by the Hokies (14-12, 3-8 ACC) but prevailed nonetheless.

Virginia Tech took advantage of 15 Florida State turnovers and stymied the Seminole offense all night. The Hokies couldn’t ice the game from the free throw line, however, connecting on just 4 of 13 attempts in the second half with Florida State fouling frequently late in an effort to remain in the game.

The win keeps Florida State in step with Duke and North Carolina, its co-leaders in the conference standings coming into the game.

Trailing 25-23 at halftime, Virginia Tech came out of the locker room after the break on fire, storming past the home squad with 17 unanswered points as part of a 19-4 run.

The Seminoles answered with an 8-0 run to pull within 42-37 with 5:28 remaining as the Hokies made a concerted effort to eat up the clock on each possession.

A 3-pointer from Ian Miller, who led the Seminoles with 11 points, pulled Florida State to within 47-45 before its final possession. Erick Green drove the Virginia Tech offense with 18 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia Tech’s 47 points equaled its season low, which came in a win at Virginia in late January. … 48 points for Florida State marks its lowest offensive output since a 46-41 loss to Harvard in November. … The Seminoles are now 6-0 at home in conference play this season and 17-0 when leading at halftime.
