Oscar Bellfield scored a season-high 16 points to lead No. 13 UNLV to a 82-63 victory over visiting Colorado State on Thursday.

Bellfield also led with six assists, while Chace Stanback added 16 points.

UNLV led 48-46 with 17:02 left and got its transition in gear to go on an 11-0 run. A fast-break layup by Justin Hawkins put the Runnin’ Rebels up 59-46 with 14:01 left. UNLV outscored Colorado State 27-2 on fast-break points.

Mike Moser and Anthony Marshall scored 13 apiece for UNLV, while Moser led with eight rebounds.

UNLV (21-3, 5-1 Mountain West) shot 50 percent (30 for 60) from the field - the seventh time it has shot 50 percent or better this season - while limiting Colorado State to only 41.1 percent (23 of 56).

A 3-pointer by Stanback at the buzzer put the Runnin’ Rebels up 48-35 at the intermission, equaling their biggest lead of the first half.

Colorado State made seven of its first nine field goals, charging out to a 19-12 lead with 13:15 left in the first half.

UNLV answered with a 12-0 run to go up 24-19 on a jumper by Brice Massamba. During UNLV’s run, Colorado State did not score for 5:59 and went 0 for 6 from the field.

The Rams opened the second half with an 11-0 run to pull to within 48-46, but could get no closer. Wes Eikmeier led Colorado State (14-7, 3-3) with 18 points.
