Darius Johnson-Odom had 26 points to burn Villanova for the second time this season, and No. 18 Marquette rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to edge the host Wildcats 82-78.

Jae Crowder added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (18-4, 7-2 Big East), who trailed by as many as 18 in the first half before collecting their sixth straight win.

Johnson-Odom, who scored 24 in Marquette's 81-77 victory over the Wildcats on Jan. 1, added six rebounds and three steals. The Golden Eagles also shot 25 for 32 at the foul line in a game that featured 57 free throws and three technical fouls.

JayVaughn Pinkston had 17 points, Dominic Cheek 16 and James Bell 13 for the Wildcats (10-12, 3-7), who misfired on a couple of game-tying 3-point attempts in the final minute.

Villanova quickly connected on its first three 3-point tries to grab a 9-2 lead. The Wildcats, who rank last in the Big East in field goal shooting and next to last in 3-point accuracy, started seven of nine to extend the margin to 21-7.

Bell, who averages 7.6 points, reached double figures for the fourth straight game. His jumper with 9:27 remaining in the first half gave him 11 points and the Wildcats a 30-12 advantage.

Marquette chipped away and pulled within eight as Villanova cooled off, but the Wildcats took a 46-36 lead into halftime.

A layup by Jamil Wilson with 11:39 to go capped a 12-0 run that gave the Golden Eagles their initial lead at 57-55.
