KANSAS 69, TEXAS 66: Tyshawn Taylor scored 22 points, and Jeff Withey provided a clutch three-point play in the last minute to help No. 7 Kansas sneak past host Texas.

With the victory, the Jayhawks (16-3, 6-0 Big 12) maintained sole possession of first place in the Big 12, one game ahead of fifth-ranked Missouri.

After Texas (12-7, 2-4 Big 12) stormed back from 15 down to take a four-point lead late in the game, the two teams traded buckets for much of the final three minutes. Trailing 66-65 in the last minute, Thomas Robinson found Withey underneath for a three-point play that gave Kansas a 68-66 edge.

J’Covan Brown had one final chance to tie the game with Texas down 69-66, but his 3-pointer at the buzzer clanged off the back of the rim.

Robinson had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Jayhawks, while Brown scored a game-high 24 for the Longhorns. Brown’s 3-pointer from the corner capped a 19-6 spurt that gave Texas a 64-60 lead with 3:24 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas went scoreless for almost seven minutes in the first half and fell behind 22-7 with 8:37 left … The Jayhawks shot 61 percent in the first half … Taylor has 78 points in his last three games.
