BOXSCORE | RECAP
Florida St. 76, Duke 73
When: 4:00 PM ET, Saturday, January 21, 2012
Where: Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, North Carolina
Officials: # Bernard Clinton, # Les Jones, # Michael Kitts
Attendance: 9314

Michael Snaer hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to break the 11th tie of the game and lead Florida State to a 76-73 upset over No. 4 Duke in Durham, N.C.

The loss for the Blue Devils (16-3, 4-1 ACC) breaks a streak of 45 consecutive home wins, tied for the longest home winning streak in school history. Florida State is the only team to beat Duke on its home court in the last 65 games at Cameron Indoor, having done so in February of 2007 prior to Saturday.

Snaer had 14 points one of four scorers in double figures for the Seminoles (13-6, 4-1 ACC), who have won four straight and have a share of first place in the ACC alongside Duke and North Carolina.

Xavier Gibson led the Seminoles with 16 points and Deividas Dulkys and Bernard James each added 12. The vaunted Florida State defense limited Duke to 39.7 percent shooting, while the Seminoles shot 54 percent from the floor.

Austin Rivers led the Blue Devils with 19 points, including a game-tying layup that knotted the game 73-73 with 4.9 seconds to play. Duke finished with a 29-28 rebounding advantage over Florida State, marking the first time the Seminoles have been outrebounded in a winning effort this season.

Duke took a 32-26 lead into halftime and Florida State never led in the first half. After leading for all but seven seconds in total during their last three games, the Seminoles didn’t take their first lead against the Blue Devils until the 16:13 mark of the second half.

ACC play continues for both schools on Wednesday, when Florida State visits Wake Forest and Duke is at Maryland.
