Lorenzo Brown orchestrated a fluid offensive attack as host North Carolina State beat Boston College 76-62 for the Wolfpack’s eighth win in nine games.

The sophomore point guard dished out seven first-half assists as N.C. State raced to a 45-28 lead. He finished with nine points, three steals and 11 assists, helping four teammates score in double figures. Scott Wood scored a game-high 16 points, nailing 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.

Under new coach Mark Gottfried, N.C. State (14-5, 3-1 ACC) has won three of its first four ACC games for the first time in six years.

The Eagles (7-11, 2-2 ACC), who start four freshmen, saw their two-game win streak snapped. They were dominated on the glass, 40-23.

Freshman center Dennis Clifford led B.C. with 12 points.

Wolfpack forward C.J. Leslie, who did not start the previous game for disciplinary reasons, bounced back from that scoreless17-minute effort with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
