Miami reeled off a 12-0 run over a three-minute span late in the game and held on for a 76-73 victory over visiting Clemson on Wednesday and snap a five-game losing streak against the Tigers.

Clemson had a chance to tie in the final seconds, but Miami's Malcolm Grant stole a long pass which allowed the Hurricanes to run out the clock.

The Hurricanes (10-6, 1-2) improved to 8-1 at home as Grant broke out of a recent shooting slump with 16 points to lead five Miami players in double figures.

The Tigers (9-9, 1-3 ACC) have lost three straight since opening conference play with an impressive 20-point home win over Florida State.

Miami rediscovered its outside shooting stroke by going 9-for-20 from 3-point range after making only 3-of-16 in a loss at North Carolina in its previous game.

Catalin Baciu, who scored a career-high 10 points for Clemson, helped spur an 8-0 run that gave the Tigers a 62-59 lead with less than eight minutes left, but the Hurricanes followed with their decisive spurt and never trailed again.

Tanner Smith helped keep Clemson in it with a red-hot first half, scoring 18 of his game-high 23 points before the break.

Durand Scott added 10 points for the Hurricanes, his seventh consecutive game in double digits.

Miami coach Jim Larranaga improved to 7-4 all-time against Clemson coach Brad Brownell. The previous 10 meetings took place when Larranaga was at George Mason and Brownell was at UNC Wilmington.
