Bo Spencer scored a game-high 23 points Wednesday as Nebraska shocked No. 13 Indiana 70-69 in a Big 12 game at the Devaney Sports Center.

Toney McCray added 11 points and Jorge Brian Diaz had 10 – including a pair of crucial late free throws – for the Huskers (10-9, 2-5), who grabbed their first win over a ranked team this season.

Indiana (15-4, 3-4) led 49-36 early in the second half following a dunk by Cody Zeller, but Nebraska methodically cut into the deficit throughout the remainder of the game, moving to within 69-68 with 27 seconds left on a tip-in from Dylan Talley.

The Huskers fouled Jordan Hulls, who entered this contest hitting 88.9 percent from the foul line this season, on the subsequent inbounds play, but he missed the front end of a one-and-one.

On the next Nebraska possession, Diaz was fouled after receiving a pass on a drive from Spencer and converted both free throws with 11 seconds remaining.

Following an Indiana timeout, Hulls drove the length of the court and put up a wild running attempt. The Hoosiers were unable to recover the ball until after the buzzer, leading the home crowd to rush the court.

Nebraska, which shot a season-low two free throws in Sunday’s five-point loss at Wisconsin, was much more aggressive in this contest as it shot 14-of- 19 from the foul line and tied a season high with 10 3-pointers.

Zeller finished with 18 points for the Hoosiers, who have dropped three straight.
