A pair of 3-pointers in the final seconds missed the mark for No. 17 Virginia, allowing sixth-ranked Duke to snap the Cavaliers' 12-game winning streak with a 61-58 home win in a key Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Thursday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Mike Scott and Jontel Evans both had good looks at 3-pointers that would have tied the game for Virginia (14-2, 1-1 ACC), which hasn't won at Cameron since 1995, a span of 15 games. The previous 14 losses were by double digits.

The Blue Devils (14-2, 2-0 ACC) have won 44 consecutive home games and are 58-1 at home since the start of the 2008-09 season.

The Cavaliers seemed poised to change that when they took a 32-28 halftime lead after hitting their final seven shots of the half, including Scott's 3-pointer with two seconds left. Scott scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half.

But the Blue Devils finally found an answer for Scott and got their own big man going in the second half.

Mason Plumlee scored nine of his team-high 12 points after the break, making up for Duke's 5-for-20 shooting from 3-point range, and the Blue Devils took the lead for good with a 7-0 run to make it 45-38 midway through the second half. Virginia never again got closer than three points.

Duke improved to 17-6 against ranked opponents over the past three seasons, including a 3-1 mark this season.
