Murphy Holloway returned to the court and returned Mississippi to the win column, posting a double-double as the host Rebels downed Arkansas 71-63.

Mississippi (11-5, 1-1 SEC) had lost four of its past five coming in, and Holloway had not played in the past three games due to a high ankle sprain. But Holloway scored 19 points with 14 rebounds as the Rebels snapped the Razorbacks’ seven-game winning streak.

Arkansas (12-4, 1-1 SEC) came in 24th in the nation in scoring offense (78.3), and scored 98 points in an upset of then No. 16 Mississippi State on Saturday. But the Rebels outrebounded the Razorbacks 46-22 and held Arkansas to 39.3 percent shooting.

Marvell Waithe pulled the Razorbacks within 39-34 three minutes into the second half. The Rebels responded with an 8-0 run over the next five minutes. Holloway scored four points during the run, and Jelan Kendrick’s jumper with 12:09 remaining pushed the Mississippi lead to 47-34.

Holloway scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the first half, and the Rebels closed the opening half with a 9-2 run in the final 2:30, taking a 37-29 lead at halftime.

Nick Williams added 18 points, and Reginald Bucker scored eight points with 11 rebounds for Mississippi.

Waithe led Arkansas with 15 points. B.J. Young scored 14 points.

Mississippi travels Saturday to Auburn. Arkansas hosts LSU on Saturday.
