Fuquan Edwin had 24 of his career-high 28 points in the first half and Jordan Theodore added 26 points and 11 assists as host Seton Hall defeated DePaul 94-73 Tuesday.

The Pirates (15-2, 4-1 Big East) earned their fourth straight conference win, and at 4-1, they're off to their best conference start since the 1999-00 season. That year, they started 5-1 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Edwin, who previously set a career high with 24 points in Saturday’s 66-57 win against Providence, went 10 of 14 from the field and also grabbed nine rebounds. Herb Pope finished with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and Aaron Cosby added 15 points.

Seton Hall took a 51-34 halftime lead behind 60 percent shooting. The Pirates scored on five straight possessions early in the first half, then promptly went on a 29-12 run to stretch the lead.

DePaul (10-6, 1-3 Big East), behind Brandon Young’s team-high 16 points, got as close as 68-59 with 7:56 left. But Seton Hall pushed the lead back to double figures moments later and the Blue Demons never got closer.

Cleveland Melvin finished with 14 points for DePaul, which lost its fifth in the last six meetings with Seton Hall. The Blue Demons shot 34 percent from the field and committed 15 turnovers.

The Pirates have won nine of 11 and have already eclipsed their win total from last season, when they finished 13-18.
