The Boilermakers (12-4, 2-1), who shot 26 percent (6-for-23) in the first half, got within four early in the second half before Penn State took control for good with an 11-1 run that made it 47-33 with 10:19 remaining.

Oliver paced Penn State with a game-high 21 points, all courtesy of a 7-for-11 effort from beyond the arc. The Nittany Lions made 10 of 21 3-pointers and also enjoyed a 35-25 rebounding advantage.

Robbie Hummel finished with 14 points to lead Purdue, which shot 31.9 percent from the floor.
