Freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist matched his season high with 18 points as No. 3 Kentucky defeated Lamar 86-64 on Wednesday for its 43rd straight home victory.

Kidd-Gilchrist, one of three freshmen who start for Kentucky, was 5-for-6 from the floor, 8-for-10 from the line and added six rebounds and four assists.

Senior Darius Miller hit four 3-pointers and scored 15, as did freshman point guard Marquis Teague. Freshman Anthony Davis posted his sixth double-double, with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the Wildcats (12-1), who have won four straight since losing to Indiana.

All-SEC forward Terrence Jones returned after missing two games with a dislocated finger and had nine points and six rebounds in 27 minutes.

Lamar was led by guard Mike James, who had a season-high 29 points on 13-of-29 shooting. Anthony Miles scored 11 with four steals for the Cardinals (8-5).

Kentucky, which plays in-state rival Louisville on Saturday, had no trouble remaining focused. The Wildcats took control early and led 44-28 at the half.
