Garrett Sim and E.J. Singler scored 13 points apiece as Oregon overcame a poor shooting performance to record a 58-45 victory over visiting North Carolina Central on Tuesday in the Global Sports Hoops Showcase.

The Ducks (7-3) made only 20 percent of their shots over the first 27 minutes before using a strong finishing kick to put away the Eagles.

Ray Willis scored 11 points and Jeremy Ingram added 10 for North Carolina Central (5-6).

The Ducks shot only 32.7 percent but went 10-of-19 over the final 13 minutes to open up a tight game.

Ingram tied the score at 28 with 13:14 remaining before Oregon broke loose for a 19-3 run. Sim made three 3-pointers during the surge, including one that gave the Ducks a 16-point lead with 6:47 remaining.

North Carolina Central shot only 29.5 percent and was 4-for-20 from 3-point range. Willis made only 5-of-21 shots.

Oregon was 20-of-22 from the free throw line.

The Ducks were only 6-for-30 from the field before Devoe Joseph hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 12:40 left to start the 19-3 run.

Oregon missed its first five shots and scored its first points on Sim’s layup nearly four minutes into the contest. North Carolina Central missed its first nine field-goal attempts and finally scored on a tip-in by Willis with 14:09 left in the half.

The Ducks shot 20 percent (5-for-25) in the first half and led 21-18 at halftime. North Carolina Central shot 21.2 percent (7-for-33).
