Mike Scott had a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds as host Virginia surged past No. 15 Michigan 70-58 on Tuesday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Cavaliers have won four straight and are 6-1 for the first time since 2007. They also improved to 7-5 all-time in the Challenge.

Michigan (5-2) took its largest lead of the second half at 39-34 when Tim Hardaway Jr. buried a 3-pointer with 13:39 left, but Virginia responded with a 19-2 run over the next seven minutes to take control. The Wolverines, who shot 44 percent from the field, missed 10-of-11 field goal attempts during the stretch and committed a pair of turnovers.

Scott, who notched his fourth double-double of the season, had 10 of his points in the second half for the Cavaliers, who have held all seven of their opponents to less than 60 points. Joe Harris finished with 18 points - including three 3-pointers - and Malcolm Brogdon came off the bench to score 15.

Michigan, which trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half, pulled within 59-49 with 2:48 left on Stu Douglass’ three-point play, but couldn’t draw any closer. Zack Novak had a team-high 12 points for the Wolverines, who fell to 4-7 all-time in the Challenge.

Trey Burke had 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting, and Evan Smotrycz added 10 for Michigan.
