Kyle Fogg scored 13 points and buried three of Arizona’s 14 3-point buckets in an 81-72 win over St. John’s at the 2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden.

Arizona (4-0) improved to 12-1 inside Madison Square since 1990 and is 31-24 all-time versus Big East opponents.

St. John’s (3-1, 0-0 Big East) falls to 21-16 versus current Pac-12 members while head coach Steve Lavin’s all-time record versus Arizona drops to 6-10.

Arizona weathered a 19-2 run from the Red Storm in the second half, battling back from eight points down with a 23-6 run to end the game, capped by a 3-point dagger from Fogg and an offensive put-back from Jesse Perry to put No. 16 Arizona up by six points with just under three minutes remaining.

The Wildcats stretched the Red Storm’s zone with dead-eye shooting from beyond the arc. Arizona was 9-for-16 from the 3-point line in the first half and finished shooting 50 percent from the perimeter with seven players hitting from outside the line.

The Johnnies' aggressive offense picked up the tempo and attacked the paint, forcing Arizona to commit 25 personal fouls. St. John’s converted 21-of-30 foul shots.

Red Storm guard Nurideen Lindsey was a one-man highlight reel, slicing through the paint and finishing numerous off-balance shots, finishing with 18 points before fouling out with four minutes remaining.

Solomon Hill led the Wildcats with 15 points and was one of five Arizona players in double figures.

Red Storm guard D'Angelo Harrison scored 16 points while swingman Moe Harkless added 13 in the loss.

Arizona will face Mississippi State in the 2K Sports Classic final at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.
