Center DeShawn Painter drained a 16-footer with four seconds left to lift host North Carolina State to a 60-58 victory over Princeton in the TicketCity Legends Classic on Wednesday.

N.C. State moved to 3-0 under new coach Mark Gottfried, holding the Tigers to 39.6 percent shooting and winning the rebounding battle 34-22.

N.C. State point guard Lorenzo Brown had a tremendous all-around game with 16 points, eight assists, five steals and five rebounds. He helped the Wolfpack overcome an early eight-point deficit and fed Painter for the winning shot.

The Tigers (0-2) started the second half 3-for-17. Guard Douglas Davis led Princeton with 21 points, including a late game-tying 3-pointer, and forward Ian Hummer added 15.

Princeton has lost eight straight games to ACC schools dating to 2000.

The Wolfpack lost forward Scott Wood, a deadly 3-point shooter, to an ankle injury early in the game.
