Jae Crowder had 25 points and 10 rebounds as host Marquette coasted to a 99-68 victory over Norfolk State on Monday.

The Golden Eagles (2-0) led by only five before Crowder scored seven of his 12 first-half points during an 11-2 surge that made it 37-23 with 3:03 to go before the intermission. Marquette's stifling pressure defense forced 14 turnovers in the opening period and 25 overall.

A 10-0 run in the second half stretched the lead to 65-40 with 12:20 left.

Darius Johnson-Odom finished with 24 points and Vander Blue added 14 for Marquette, which had 26 assists on its 33 field goals. The Golden Eagles enjoyed a 31-15 advantage in bench scoring and outpointed the Spartans in the paint 46-24.

Chris McEachin scored 19 points and Marcos Tamares had 17 for Norfolk State (0-1).
