Duke lost ACC Player of the Year Nolan Smith to a jammed toe in the second half but still rolled to an 87-71 win over Maryland in the ACC quarterfinals Friday in Greensboro, N.C.

The second-seeded Blue Devils (28-4) will face Virginia Tech in Saturday’s semifinals.

Kyle Singler snapped out of his slump to score 29 points and grab nine rebounds and Duke went on an 11-1 run following Smith's injury to break it open late.

Duke led 42-33 at the half despite Smith going without a field goal. Maryland (19-14) cut the lead to one five times, but never could get over the hump.

The Terps hurt their cause at the foul line, making just 15 of 28. Jordan Williams went 2 of 10, marring his 16-point, 16-rebound performance.

It was Duke’s third win over Maryland this season.

Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly scored 11 points each and the Plumlee brothers, Mason and Miles, added 10 apiece for the Blue Devils.
