Green led four Cardinal players in double-digit scoring with 19, while Anthony Brown added 14 points and Jack Trotter had 11. Freshman forward Dwight Powell recorded his first double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

DePaul (1-4) was led by Jimmy Drew’s 17 points. Senior guard Brandon Young reached double-figures for the fifth straight game, finishing with 15 points.

Mike Stovall had 11 points and Tony Freeland added 10 for the Blue Demons, who made 7-of-17 (41.2 percent) of their 3-pointers after making just 12 in their first four games.

Stanford (4-2) forced overtime with Green’s jumper with 51 seconds remaining, tying the game at 67. Green’s shot to win the game from the top of the key fell short at the buzzer.

Stanford, which led 36-34 at halftime, jumped to a 13-2 lead when Aaron Bright (seven points) made a 3-pointer with 13:56 remaining in the first half.

Both teams dropped their first two games of the tournament, with the Cardinal falling to Murray State (55-52) and Tulsa (65-53), while the Blue Demons lost to Oklahoma State (60-56) and Cal State Northridge (88-66).
