Freshman C.J. Wilcox scored 24 points and Washington used a 14-0 run late in the game to defeat visiting UCLA 70-63 in a pivotal Pac-10 contest Thursday night.

Despite the victory, Washington (20-9, 11-6 Pac-10) saw its Pac-10 title hopes come to an end as Arizona defeated Oregon State to move to 13-4 in the conference. But the Huskies may have solidified a spot in the NCAA tournament by capping a season sweep of the Bruins, who are now a game behind the Wildcats in the conference standings with just one game left.

UCLA (21-9, 12-5 Pac-10) entered the game winners of eight of its last nine. The Bruins got 14 points from Jerime Anderson off the bench and 12 points and 16 rebounds from freshman Joshua Smith.

UCLA led 25-24 at the half in a game that featured 13 lead changes and nine ties. The Bruins’ final lead was 53-49 after Anderson hit a 3-pointer with 6:01 to play.

But the Huskies scored 14 straight points highlighted by a three-point play by Wilcox and back-breaking steal and layup by Isaiah Thomas.
