Augustus Gilchrist scored a career-high 32 points and USF enjoyed its best offensive output of the season en route to snapping a six-game losing streak with an 86-76 win over DePaul on Saturday afternoon in Rosemont, Ill.

USF (9-20, 3-13 Big East) captured its first road win of the season in 12 tries, shooting 57 percent from the field. The win was the first since beating DePaul (7-21, 1-15 Big East) Jan. 27 in Tampa, Fla.

Augustus scored 20 points in the first half as USF raced to a 41-28 lead before DePaul made a couple of runs in the second half, cutting the deficit to 63-61 with 9:00 remaining. A tip-in by Augustus started a 7-2 run and the Bulls never looked back.

The Blue Demons, who were led by Brandon Young’s 23 points, played without leading scorer and standout freshman Cleveland Melvin (sprained thumb), who is fifth in the Big East in conference games at better than 17 points per game.
