David Lighty scored 19 points to lead five starters in double figures as No. 1 Ohio State pulled away for an 82-69 victory at No. 20 Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

Lighty hit a 3-pointer to cap a 10-0 run that put the Buckeyes in front, 28-16, with 8:34 left in the first half.

Minnesota got as close as six points early in the second half before Ohio State (24-0, 11-0 Big Ten) scored seven consecutive points to extend the lead to 51-37 with 14:20 to go. The margin remained in double digits the rest of the way.

The Golden Gophers fell despite shooting 51 percent (25 of 49) from the floor. Ohio State overcame the shooting disparity by forcing 19 turnovers.

Jared Sullinger added 18 points and 13 rebounds for Ohio State, while William Buford added 15 points.

Blake Hoffarber led Minnesota (16-7, 5-6) with 16 points, while Ralph Sampson III and Chip Armelin added 14 points each.
