Trey Thompkins hit a free throw with 1.4 seconds left, lifting Georgia to a 60-59 victory over Arkansas on Wednesday night in Fayetteville, Ark.

Georgia (15-6, 4-4 SEC) snapped a two-game losing streak and surpassed its win total from last season. Thompkins, sixth in the SEC in scoring at 17.1 points, did not score in the first half. But he finished with 12 points, none bigger than the final point.

Tied at 59-59, Thompkins rebounded his own miss and was fouled by Arkansas’ Delvon Johnson with 1.4 seconds left. After hitting the first free throw, Thompkins missed the second and the Razorbacks – out of timeouts – could not get downcourt before time expired.

Gerald Robinson’s basket with 4:53 remaining gave Georgia a 54-52 lead. After the Razorbacks (14-7, 4-4 SEC) hit a free throw, Robinson scored again and Thompkins’ 3-pointer pushed Georgia’s lead to 59-53.

Arkansas responded, pulling within 59-57on Julysses Nobles’ drive and basket with 1:26 to go. After a Robinson miss, Nobles drove and scored to tie it at 59-59 with 27.5 seconds left.

Robinson led Georgia with 14 points.

Arkansas led 19-10 before Georgia used a 10-3 run to draw within 22-20 on Travis Leslie’s layup with 2:56 left. Arkansas led 25-22 at halftime, but Georgia opened the second half with a 15-5 run, taking a 37-30 lead on Leslie’s layup with 12:44 remaining.
