Jon Leuer's 24 points and 13 rebounds catapulted No. 18 Wisconsin past No. 10 Purdue 66-59 on Tuesday evening in Madison, Wis.

Jordan Taylor added 15 points for Wisconsin (16-5, 6-3 Big Ten), which closed the game on an 8-0 run and outrebounded the Boilermakers 32-25.

Purdue put together a pair of rallies in the final 20 minutes before falling short. First, the Boilermakers made their first nine shots of the second half while erasing an eight-point halftime deficit. Then D.J. Byrd's layup with 1:11 to go capped a 7-0 run that put Purdue in front 59-58.

Ryan Evans hit a jumper at the other end, however, and the Badgers never trailed again.

JaJuan Johnson, who led Purdue (18-5, 7-3) with 23 points, missed a long jump shot with 36 seconds remaining, and Leuer extended Wisconsin’s lead to 62-59 with a pair of foul shots.

The Boilermakers had a final opportunity to draw even, but an offensive foul effectively ended the game.
