Mike Singletary scored a season-high 33 points, leading five players in double figures, as Texas Tech won its first road game in almost a year Wednesday night, 92-83 over Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

The win was the second straight for Texas Tech (10-11, 2-4 Big 12) and it marked the first road triumph for the Red Raiders since a Feb. 9, 2010 victory at Oklahoma. Iowa State (14-7, 1-5 Big 12) dropped its third straight and never recovered from a 10-0 run midway through the first half as the Red Raiders built an 11-point lead, one ISU could never come back from.

Singletary, who had shot just 25 percent from the field in his previous four games, made 12 of 18 from the field in a breakout performance. The Red Raiders shot 55 percent from the field (35 of 64) and were 7 of 12 from 3-point range.

Singletary also added 10 rebounds and six assists, while D’walyn Roberts had a career-high 16 points and a season-best 11 rebounds for the Red Raiders. Brad Reese and David Tairu chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively and John Roberson had his first double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 12 assists.

Iowa State, which cut Texas Tech’s 14-point lead to five on three different occasions in the second half, had a second straight off-night from long range. Coming off a 4-of-22 effort from 3-point range at Missouri last Saturday, the Cyclones were just 4 of 21 behind the arc against Texas Tech.

The nation’s top 3-point shooting tandem of Scott Christopherson and Jamie Vanderbeken combined to shoot only 1 of 10 from 3-point range. Diante Garrett paced Iowa State with 27 points while Jake Anderson notched his third double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
