Boston College bounced back from its first conference loss to remain in first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Eagles hit eight free throws in the final 1:29 to hold off Virginia, 70-67, Wednesday at Conte Forum.

Boston College (14-5, 4-1 ACC) was coming off a one-point loss at Miami, but it got big games from Joe Trapani and Reggie Jackson to improve to 4-0 in conference play at home.

Biko Paris hit two free throws to give the Eagles the lead for good, 64-62, with 1:29 to play. Corey Raji extended the lead to four with two free throws with just under a minute to play.

Jackson then made four free throws down the stretch, including a pair after Sammy Zeglinski hit a 3-pointer to pull Virginia within 68-67 with six seconds to go.

Trapani scored 18 points and Jackson had 16 with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Mustapha Farrakhan scored 14 points for Virginia (10-8, 1-3 ACC), which was outscored 20-8 at the free-throw line.
