Brian Williams’ putback at the buzzer allowed Tennessee to steal a 59-57 victory over Georgia on Tuesday in Athens, Ga.

The Bulldogs trailed 57-54 before Dustin Ware tied the game on a 3-pointer with 59 seconds to go. Scotty Hopson missed a jumper at the other end for Tennessee (12-6, 2-2 SEC), but an offensive rebound by Melvin Goins set up another opportunity.

Vols freshman Tobias Harris missed a 3-pointer, but Williams was there to follow up the miss and hand Georgia (13-4, 2-2) its first home loss of the season.

Only once did either team lead by more than three points in the second half – the Volunteers had a brief 47-43 cushion after a 3-pointer from Skylar McBee, but Georgia scored the next five points to regain the upper hand in a back-and-forth affair.

Harris and Hopson each had 15 points for Tennessee, while Travis Leslie and Gerald Robinson paced the Bulldogs with 14 points apiece.
