Richard Howell finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, leading North Carolina State to a 76-54 win over San Diego on Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C. The Wolfpack (9-4) took command early, scoring the first eight points of the game and building a 22-8 lead in the first 10 minutes of play. The Toreros never seriously threatened.

North Carolina State shot 55.2 percent from the field (32 of 58) and dominated inside, outrebounding San Diego 45-25 and finishing with a 46-24 scoring edge in the paint.

Tracy Smith scored a game-high 16 points off the bench for the Wolfpack, while Lorenzo Brown added 14. Devin Ginty finished with 10 points for the Toreros (3-11).
