Matt Kavanaugh scored 15 points and Dayton overcame a 14-point halftime deficit en route to 69-65 victory over Seton Hall Wednesday.

Dayton (10-3) outscored Seton Hall 43-25 in the final 20 minutes en route to its fifth win in six games. Chris Wright added 13 points – including a go-ahead jumper midway through the second half - and nine rebounds.

The Flyers, who won the NIT last season, have designs on returning to the NCAA Tournament and they showed their grit with a comeback win on the road.

Seton Hall shot 50 percent in the first half and led 40-26 after 20 minutes. But Dayton clawed its way back into the game thanks to a 22-6 run at the start of the second half.

Neither team led by more than four points the rest of the way until Wright’s jumper with 8:09 left sparked a decisive 9-2 run that gave Dayton a 63-57 lead it didn't relinquish.

Jeff Robinson had 15 points for Seton Hall (6-5), which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
