Reserve Donte Smith scored 14 of his 22 points during a 3:34 span in the second half, propelling USC to a 60-52 victory over Northern Arizona Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Smith hit four 3-pointers in as many attempts during his one-man 14-3 run, helping the Trojans (6-4) pull away in what had been a tight game most of the way.

USC scored eight consecutive points to grab a 17-9 lead with 12:13 left in the first half, and the Lumberjacks never crawled all the way back.
A pair of 3-pointers by Gabe Rogers got Northern Arizona within 38-35 with 12:07 to go in the game, but Smith's scoring binge helped the Trojans extend the lead back to 54-40 at the 5:33 mark.

Nikola Vucevic added 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for USC, which finished with a 41-29 edge on the boards. Rogers paced Northern Arizona (7-3) with 20 points, hitting 6-of-11 shots from 3-point range.
