BOXSCORE | RECAP
Connecticut 78, Fairleigh Dickinson 54
When: 7:30 PM ET, Wednesday, December 8, 2010
Where: Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, Storrs, Connecticut
Officials: # John Gaffney, # Brent Hampton, # Brian O'Connell

Kemba Walker scored 21 points on a season-low 13 field-goal attempts, but No. 6 Connecticut still managed to cruise past Fairleigh Dickinson 78-54 Wednesday.

Jeremy Lamb added 12 points and Roscoe Smith chipped in 10 and 10 rebounds for the Huskies (8-0), who held the Knights to 33 percent shooting and blocked 11 shots.

Playing its fifth America East team of the pre-conference schedule, UConn did not have its shots falling early but didn’t need to score quite as much thanks to a defense that held Fairleigh Dickinson to two field goals in the first 12 minutes en route to a 35-21 lead at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half, with the Huskies ripping off a 15-6 spurt at the beginning of the period to increase the lead to 50-27.

Kamil Svrdlik finished with 21 points for the Knights (3-4).

UConn has two more home games before diving right into Big East play with a visit to No. 3 Pittsburgh on December 27.
