Tyler Zeller has put North Carolina back on the college basketball radar.

Four days after leading the Tar Heels to a victory over Kentucky, the junior forward again carried the team to a 76-49 victory over Evansville Wednesday night.

Zeller, who is originally from Indiana and had somewhat of a homecoming, finished with a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds. Justin Knox added 13 points, while Harrison Barnes and Reggie Bullock had nine points each.

It marked the first true road victory for North Carolina (6-3), which has won four of its past five games. Evansville (3-4), on the other hand, has lost four of five.

North Carolina went on a 10-0 run to take a 17-6 lead with 12:38 left in the first half. The Tar Heels stayed in the driver’s seat the rest of the way, leading 46-27 at halftime.

The North Carolina defense played well, too, holding Evansville to 31.7 percent shooting.

Colt Ryan led Evansville with nine points.
