Freshman Vander Blue poured in a career-high 21 points to lead Marquette to an easy 86-50 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Blue hit 9-of-13 field-goal attempts and added five rebounds, four assists and three steals while pacing five Golden Eagles in double figures. Reserve Jae Crowder and Jimmy Butler each added 15 points as part of a one-sided frontcourt battle that saw Marquette finish with a 52-18 scoring advantage in the paint.

Seven different players scored in the first 8:17 of play as Marquette (7-2) jumped out to a 25-4 lead en route to a comfortable 48-17 halftime cushion. The Golden Eagles dominated all facets of play in the opening half, hitting 19-of-35 shots while forcing the Islanders into 6-for-23 shooting (26.1 percent).

Demond Watt led the way with 17 points for the Islanders (3-6), who turned the ball over 22 times while forcing just eight Marquette giveaways.
