Marcus Jordan scored 18 points, helping unbeaten Central Florida hold on for a 57-54 win over No. 16 Florida at the Florida Citrus Shootout Wednesday evening in Orlando, Fla.

The Gators (5-2) trailed for most of the game but kept within range, using a 10-1 spurt early in the second half to take a 46-44 lead. Jordan put the Knights back in front, 51-48, with a foul shot at the 6:04 mark and a jumper less than two minutes later, but Florida stayed within range and wound up with a shot at the lead in the final seconds.

Down 53-52, Florida got a steal from Kenny Boynton with 52 seconds remaining, but Boynton’s shot to put the Gators ahead at the other end missed the mark and Central Florida was able to seal the outcome from the foul line.

Keith Clanton added 12 points for the Knights (6-0), including four free throws in the closing moments.

Vernon Macklin led the Gators with 20 points on 10-of-12 shooting.
